“Giving Gap” in Asian American Community? Recap of Asia Society panel

The event, “Giving Gap? Connecting Asian American Philanthropy and Community Needs,” brought together 5 experts on Asian American giving, including CACF co-founder Buck Gee.

If you missed the Asia Society’s panel on Asian American philanthropy last week, a brief summary of the discussion is featured on The Asia Society blog. The event, titled, “Giving Gap? Connecting Asian American Philanthropy and Community Needs” brought together 5 experts on Asian American giving, including CACF co-founder Buck Gee! The panel’s consensus as to whether the community gives as much as it should echoes what we’ve also seen: Asian Americans of all cultures belong to a long tradition of philanthropy and give in different ways; however, many needs are still unaddressed in the community due to racial misconceptions and lack of services. We certainly have a lot of work to do together to empower the community!
