A Holiday Meal to Remember: Recap from GLIDE

Reflections on yesterday’s Chefs Without Borders Holiday Meal service and a thank you to all participants

No one gets up in the morning and just decides to prepare 2,500 meals for the disadvantaged. However, with a community of good-hearted people, this is what we were able to accomplish yesterday. And what we saw touched us all: long lines of the old, disabled, and homeless wrapping around the corner for a chance to enjoy a gourmet Asian fusion meal for the holidays (it was so good that some came back for seconds and thirds!).

For those who volunteer year after year, this meal service continues to be one of the most rewarding holiday activities in San Francisco. We like to think it’s even a little magical to witness: a group of mostly strangers getting together to release such good will into the universe. We’re still reeling from all the kindness we saw passed around yesterday and, needless to say, feel so honored to consider GLIDE, our star chefs, and yesterday’s 150 volunteers a part of our community. Thank you to all who participated! We hope to see you again next year.
